This building caught our eye the first day we were here in Barcelona as it was near our hotel. We have since moved away from this area and into our apartment. It is an office building belonging to the water department. Some have described it as looking like a geyser, others have described it in more colorful terms!

There are civic centers throughout the city and one is half a block from our place. They are having a series of concerts and workshops throughout the summer. Within a space of 8 days we took in 3 free shows.

The first we were able to attend was Guillermo Navarro <https://youtu.be/vxN36MNqqB4> violinist from the University of Basel.

The next concert was Paco Rodriguez, < https://youtu.be/4a1GjCW5Ep0 > horn player for a number of European orchestras and Daniel Garcia who accompanied him on piano. Too bad we couldn’t find any clips of their version of Black Orpheus scored for 7 horns and piano. If we had been wearing socks they would have blown them off!

Finally, we saw the Marc Martin Trio, 3 twenty-something jazz musicians whose performance reminded me of the Oscar Peterson Trio.  Here’s a clip of them performing “Cheek To Cheek“: < https://youtu.be/6_08GbKnhAM >

Last night we went to a concert in a park. The park was so beautiful but unfortunately it was a little too dark to take photos. Here is the jazz quartet that played.

When we got off the subway on our way to the park and  came up the steps we were amazed to see this stunning sight!

We continue to be delighted and amazed by all our new discoveries. Castilian language school is occupying most of our time at present.  Four hours of classwork 5 days a week.  And in our time away from class, we study Castilian!
